Smartphone sensation 'played 200m minutes per day
That is Angry Birds. It is still one of the top three phone apps today!
Finnish mobile giant Rovio has makes €50 million ($70m) from the Angry Birds brand, according to reports.
The bird-flinging game has become a mobile phenomenon, remaining at the top half of the App Store charts for over twelve months.
A profit margin of that enormity demonstrates perhaps not the sheer opportunity available on mobile platforms, but instead the huge profits developers can make if they strike lucky.
"Don't recreate the wheel!"
(below see a list of knockoff games)
I have lived very successfully by that advice.
The last time you were at the grocery store, did you notice they imitate almost EVERY brand today? Cereal, Soda (Pop in the Midwest), Milk, Chips....there is always a "similar" brand.
DID YOU KNOW ANGRY BIRDS WAS A KNOCKOFF APP?
On the other hand, you probably haven't heard of Crush the Castle, an online Flash game that was released a mere eight months before Angry Birds and bears more than a few ... similarities. And if you have heard of it, then congratulations, you can now tell your friends you liked Angry Birds before it was cool.
I only need $1,000,000, what about you?
I'm not trying to make $100,000,000 off of this new game, but $1,000,000 is nice isn't it? What can you do with $1,000,000...oh...$1,000,000 per year! What if we only achieve 3 years of that kind of income. Are you complaining?
The game itself cost around €100,000 ($140k) to build and update, Wired claimed.
PLUS we will not be spending €100,000 ($140,000) making it...the development framework is already there.
By taking two known successful items, PLUS access to MASSIVE MEDIA and creating a new brand.
YES, did I forget to mention, I have access to MASSIVE Media. I can prove this and will for my partner. I have already been on about every known American media outlet and a lot in Europe and Asia.
My attorney already verified I can use the name created. So we're good to go!
A profit margin of that enormity demonstrates perhaps not the sheer opportunity available on mobile platforms, but instead the huge profits developers can make if they strike lucky.
I want to take the luck out of it. So, $70M per year on Birds. With the name draw, I will bet you your grandma's draws that we will get at least 3% ($2,100,000) of that market, just to try it out.
Angry Birds has become a global success on smartphone platforms. According to Wired, each day users together spend 200 million minutes playing the mobile game.
Well, even if we do not hit that level of success, we can achieve a nice niche wealth for a little while.
