Funding Campaign
Overview
In order to update the iOS app to more guides and create an Android version, I am hoping to find fellow history buffs who have a passion for exploring. You can download the present American Auto Trails app for free.
Project Description
I launched the iOS app, American Auto Trails, in 2010. The intention of this app is to enable the traveller to follow a selected route and have historic sites identified along the way. Seventy-five guides were provided in the first version. Each is based on what is provided in eBooks available for the Kindle and other eReaders.
In order to update the iOS app to include 150 guides and create an Android version, I am soliciting funding from those are passionate for exploring history along America’s highways. If you have an iOS device, you can download the present American Auto Trails app for free and test drive the free route provided (Missouri's U.S. Highway 66).
My company, Caddo Publications USA, was begun in 2000 with the vision of bringing to light the history that is lies along our highways. Using the original American Guides of the 1930’s and 40’s as inspiration and an incredible source of information, I have developed new guides with up-to-date directional information while continually providing additional sites and landmarks to be explored.
We actively support historic preservations projects, both local and national, and are collaborating with individual state historic departments to assist travelers by providing a centralized source of information for their sites and parks. Your support is appreciated, and any purchases go to the continued development of the project.
