My Xbox Live app is now available on Android
Finally, after all these years Microsoft has launched their My Xbox Live app for the Android and it is available for download on Google Play. Better late than never, right? This is a complete Xbox Live app that features game trailers, Xbox news, recent games list, achievements and you can also message your Xbox Live friends directly from the app.
As far as my usage with this app, I think it is fast, smooth and fluid. Microsoft has done a great job with this app and it totally delivers. Only problem with this app that I have is it doesn’t take much use of the Android design guidelines instead looks more like WP7 but still it is great to have your XBL account at your fingertips [literally!]. Finally no need to get a Windows Phone anymore. [Everybody buys Windows Phones for Xbox Live, right?]
The app has three pages, the first page has all the Xbox news, previews, game trailers, etc a simple swipe to the right will bring you to your social page with your avatar, friends, messages and beacons. Finally, the last page has all your recently played games with achievements. You can also edit your profile and looks of your avatar from this app, pretty slick!. There is a message icon all times at the top-right corner of the app to give you easy access to messages and chatting with your friends.
That’s all the app is able to do right now. Microsoft might add new features with future updates to let you buy Live content directly from your phone. This is the best day of my life as an Xbox gamer. Great job Microsoft! You can download the app here.
