Sony Xperia S Owners Rejoice, ICS Now Rolling Out

Sony Xperia S owners, get ready for some Ice Cream Sandwich goodness.

Sony has revealed that they are now in the process of rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update to all owners of the Xperia S smartphone. Although not everyone will get the update immediately, Sony promises that by the next few weeks, all Xperia S owners will have the option of updating their phone. But seriously, who wouldn’t want to update to ICS if given the choice?

According to Sony, some of the cool features you can look forward to are: a lock screen with improved functionality, resizeable widgets  for improved personalization, improved control of your mobile data consumption, recent Apps button for clear overview of your applications.

There are a lot of other features so I suggest you really watch the video. Now who again doesn’t want ICS on their Xperia S?

Meanwhile, Sony also announced a “Walkman” app which should be rolled out together with ICS for the Xperia S. Sony said:

Sony Xperia S owners should be receiving notifications now on their notification bar from where they could directly update their units via mobile or Wi-Fi connection. They can also go to sonymobile.com/software to look for the update or use Sony’s Mac or PC applications.
