WowWee Introduces the Cinemin Slice

While smartphones and tablets are great for things like communication, social networking, surfing the web and the occasional productive period of working, some things just aren’t ideal for their screen size. For example, watching a movie or playing a game on the iPad is great but the small screen size can hinder the entertainment, especially if you are trying to enjoy it with other people.

A solution to this can be a projector so rather than having to buy a big screen TV, you just need a big wall. WowWee has announced their newest line of these kinds of projectors, the Cinemin Slice. The projector can display a 60 inch image from 10 feet away. The image is pretty bright, but for optimal performance it is recommended that you find a dark place to use it.

And though the image you create is probably larger than most HDTVs, the image you get won’t exactly be HD. The projector creates an image with a 854 x 480 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. You can also manually focus and adjust the angle to have it fit any wall or ceiling. Aside from visuals, the slice also brings audio features with a built in 6-watt stereo speaker and a headphone jack in case you want to listen idly.

The Slice is compatible with your iTouch, iPhone, and iPad meaning it can work as a media player for your music, your pictures, and your videos. But the Slice also allows you to connect your laptop and even gaming systems to be enjoyed on the portable big screen.

The Slice retails at $430 which can be a little on the pricey side for a projector especially if you don’t plan on making full use of all its features. In that case you may be interested in the Cinemin Swivel, a smaller more portable projector created by WowWee. This project only works with iPads and iPhones, but it also comes at a smaller price point. You can find both these devices at specific retailers or at WowWee’s online shop.
