Steve Jobs Wanted To Build A Car
You probably know Steve Jobs for being the man who brought Apple to life twice. You probably also associate the iPod, iPhone, iPad, MacBook and iMac to him when someone asks what he has done. However, Steve Jobs also delved into many things and now it has been revealed that he wanted to build a car.
Let’s call it the iCar, as his company is popular for slapping “i” in front of common nouns and because iVehicle is too long and iMobile seems a bit too gimmicky or may even be confusing as there are the iPhone and iPad which are mobile telecommunications devices.
Anyway, Steve Jobs’ desire to build an iCar was revealed by J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler at the Fast Company Innovation Uncensored conference.
According to the man who holds a seat in Apple’s Board of Directors:
“Look at the car industry; it’s a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars? Steve’s dream before he died was to design an iCar. And, it would’ve been probably 50% of the market.”
Nonetheless, he said that before passing, Steve Jobs did not get the chance to design it. He was building a yacht though and if the design of that is any indication, we would have seen a sleek car from Steve Jobs’ vision. Take a look at this yacht he was designing with celebrated designer Philippe Starck.
Meanwhile, Mr. Drexler also seemed to have confirmed iTV. He said: “You know, Apple has 10 products. The living room they’re dealing with at some point in the near future.”
What do you imagine Steve Jobs car would be like? Tell us in the comments.
