shake2u Review – A Fresh Idea For File Sharing

Remember the old days of transferring files between mobile devices?  When we used bluetooth connections?  Compatibility between devices of various brands was not  a problem and for the time bluetooth was the way to go.  Unfortunately, here in this era, the same operation can’t be easily done on iDevices. In fact, 3rd party apps are needed to fully complete such tasks, and actually not all are work nicely.  Among those apps, there is one that works great, and features a relatively odd but unique way to conduct file sharing: shake2u by Wenjoy Technology.

As the name implies, shaking your iPhone has something to do with the file sharing feature. Actually, to begin a communication between devices, the first thing you need to do is shake both devices. Both devices will turn on the selected connection type (WiFi or bluetooth), and then both devices will connect to each other. From here, you can start choosing files and transferring them between the devices.

Files are already organized based on their categories, as reflected in the main menu. Inside the Files group you can find general files, including documents (supported formats include MS Office, iWork, PDF, Txt, Rtf, Web files, Zip files and many more). Inside the Photo album groups, of course, you will find images and photos. Contacts is already synched with your phone’s directory, while in My card, you can create your custom business card, which are all also transferrable.

After selecting the desired files, simply touch the transfer button, which is located in the upper right corner of the screen on all categories. This will bring up another pop-up menu in which you can determine the file protection option including the file expiration time if you wish. After that, file transfer will start.

The settings screen can be accessed from the main menu, the app allows you to adjust various options, including iTunes file sharing, file protection and permission options.  You can also view a list of devices you’ve connected with.  You can get shake2u on the App Store for a sale price of $1.99 (normal price is $4.99).
