Samsung blocks server access for Leaked S-Voice APKs

So, You’ve been playing with Samsung’s latest innovation (pun intended), S-Voice? It was leaked a couple of days ago for all ICS devices. Well, if you didn’t use it then unfortunately my friend you just missed your chance. Samsung has now started to block server access for all devices that are not the Galaxy S III. Which means that Samsung wants to make this feature exclusive to their flagship phone. [btw, I kinda enjoyed using it on my good old Galaxy S!]

It’s not like you’ve missed something great, it wasn’t that great to be honest. First of all it was only installable on ICS devices and second, it did force close a lot. [at least on me it did!]. Your best bet is to use Google Voice Actions now, given that you know your way through all the commands. If Samsung is trying to compete with Apple’s Siri then they’ll have to polish the S-Voice a bit. Still, it was the best voice recognition app on Android [imho!]

You didn’t think guys over at XDA will give up this easy. No way, a few modders are working on modding the apk so that the servers think this is a Galaxy S III for easy access but that can cause problems with other apps and specially Google Play that requires devices authentication.

Let us know if you used the S-Voice? Do you think this is the right move by Samsung?
