Mark Zuckerberg’s Priscilla Chan Is Redefining The Billionaire’s Partner

As you know by now, Facebook has been listed in the NASDAQ stock market and has a market cap of more than $104 as of time of writing. This has made its cofounder and largest individual shareholder Mark Zuckerberg an instant billionaire and 29 richest man in the world.

However, unbeknownst to many is that Pricilla Chan, Zuckerberg’s girlfriend also achieved her own monumental success this week and it’s not because her boyfriend now has more money than they could ever live on in lifetimes.

Chan, who has been steady with Zuckerberg since the two met at a Harvard frat party ten years ago, graduated on Monday from the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Furthermore, the doctor became a member of the prestigious National Medical Honor Society.

Zuckerberg posted a status message on Facebook on Monday as Chan graduated in a ceremony held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and it said: “I’m so proud of you, Dr. Chan ”

All of this Chan did days after she inspired a big step in helping people have access to organ donation through Facebook. Facebook has launched an feature where users can indicate if they are an organ donor. According to reports, over 1,000 new donors were recruited via Facebook just days after the new feature was launched.

And Zuck credits his “Cilla” as the inspiration behind this new feature. He said to ABC: “She’s going to be a pediatrician, so our dinner conversations are often about Facebook and the kids that she’s meeting.”

From the looks of it, Chan is etching her own very successful career and not just because she is the partner of the Facebook cofounder. Looking at these achievements we’ve listed, which I’m sure is short of what she has actually accomplished, Chan is doing all this using her own skills and drive.

After all, when your boyfriend is worth upwards of $21 billion and you’re a no-good gold digger, you don’t even have to work, right? But no, Chan is redefining the concept of who the billionaire’s partner is.

UPDATE: The two have already wed so Priscilla Chan is now Mrs. Zuckerberg. The lovebirds totally surprised guests last Saturday, May 20, with the invite saying that the party was to celebrate Mrs. Zuckerberg’s graduation from med school. However, when the two came out, they were in their traditional wedding dresses. Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan have already changed their relationship statuses to “Married”.
