We Hope Google’s Project Glass Becomes An ‘Augmented Reality’ Reality

Seriously, we hope Google finds a way to make Project Glass an “augmented reality” reality. This would be seriously cool. Seriously…

Alright, enough with that, you do get now that we’re seriously hoping for this to be developed in the future ready to be released to us mere mortals. If they released this, I’d happily give them my money.

Aside from being cool, it really is a step up in how integrated technology can be with our own reality. That’s why it’s called “augmented reality” as it can help us live our lives easier. In the video below, Google shows you all the nifty things you can do with your Project Glass eyeglasses.

I’d like this more than the alternatives. The only alternative I can think of is implanted chips which somehow read our minds and are able to tap into our vision to project images. I would not want this. It’s scary and I’d much prefer the glasses solution Google is suggesting here.

Google has presented the first peek into Project Glass with a posting on Google Plus last Wednesday. In the post, the technology giant – though Babak Parviz, Steve Lee and Sebastian Thrun, said:

“We think technology should work for you—to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.

A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment. We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input. So we took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do.

Please follow along as we share some of our ideas and stories. We’d love to hear yours, too. What would you like to see from Project Glass?”

If you have nary an idea what Project Glass does, finish this video:

Do you think it’s cool or not? Share your thoughts below.

This would be amazing if this was a reality! I have so many App ideas that would work very nicely with this kind of technology. Thanks for the post!
