Google’s answer to Siri dubbed as Assistant, will be out in Q4 this Year!

According to rumors, Google is working on something new that will be an answer to Apple’s Siri. This new virtual assistant is codenamed “Project Majel” and will be much better, faster and smarter than Siri.

There have been plenty of rumors that Google is working on a Siri-like app at their secret lab a.k.a “Google X Labs”. But now the word on the street is that instead of the X Labs, the new app is being built by the Android team and a fellow researcher Amit Singhal.

The new assistant by Google will be far better and smarter than Siri, it will just use Google as its source of information unlike Siri that relies on more than one partner for its data. Google will also share its API with developers, so they can use it in their apps and take full advantage of it. The new Assistant will be called “Assistant” [Much better than Siri, isn’t it?]

The Google Assistant is more likely to come out in 4th Quarter of 2012, but we assume that it might be released with the next Android 5.0 Jelly Beans OS, which is rumored to be launched much earlier than Q4.
