HUDY Pro – Speedometer On Your Windshield

Sometimes when you are driving, it might be more comfortable if you can quickly and conveniently view the vehicle’s current stats, especially its speed, without the need to look away from the windshield. While similar features might exist in high-end vehicles, we can get a similar functionality by utilizing apps on the iPhone. One these apps, would be HUDY Pro by BroadCON. The name HUDY could possibly be derived from HUD, the abbreviation for “Head Up Display”, which in this case means the user can easily track his/her vehicle without changing his/her view away from the windshield, possibly viewable with only a glance.This application works by using your real time location data to produce the needed information, which includes the current vehicle speed, direction, and the current time. Since it relies on location services, its accuracy heavily depends the accuracy of the location services. The needed information is displayed on the main screen, where you can view them normally, as seen directly into the iPhone’s screen, or you can project them into the windshield by inverting the display using the supplied button. The homescreen is well designed with a hi-tech look-and-feel. If you want something simpler and straightforward, you can switch to the other screen which will also display all the important information.You can also fully customize the information screen in the Settings screen. This includes the main display color, preferred screen orientation, default speed unit, toggling time, direction, and battery display, enabling sleep mode, as well as  fullscreen display. While the standard feature can be obtained for free, most of the customizable options and additional features (including ECO display and Zero-100 feature, which will be discussed next) must be purchased via in-app purchase.This app also has extra features, which are ECO-display and Zero-100 screen. ECO-display is meant to be used as a tracker of our driving habit related to the environment by detecting and processing sudden speed changes made, which will help improving gas mileage. Zero-100 screen can be used to calculate the time needed to reach a certain speed point right from velocity zero.
