TourWrist Brings Life to Panoramic Photos
Photography is something that people constantly share. Whether it is casual mobile photos across social networks or professional photography, there are plenty of people that wish they could have expanded the camera frame to have a wider shot. This desire has given rise to panoramic shots and cameras designed just for that. Panoramic photos allow people to get much wider pictures and even 360˚ shots. TourWrist is a new site to help augment those panoramic shots.
Panoramic shots and videos have become widely popular in businesses like tourism and real estate since they give a better view of a space and also better user experience. What TourWrist is doing is providing tools and a platform for people to upload their panoramic photos and turn them into visual “tours”. Within these tours you can rotate, drag, and zoom in any direction. This lets anyone get a much clearer look and feel for a certain space. There are plenty of these tours available on TourWrist’s website as well as their iPhone app. The tours are also easily embeddable into websites, letting businesses, real estate agents, and hotels provide users an in depth look at rooms online.
TourWrist looks very slick, has an easy to use interface, and makes creating these visual tours a breeze. It also offers plenty of options to spread certain tours as all of them have standard options for sharing across social networks. You can also favorite and flag tours as well as be able to embed and get the QR code to share the tour.
However, for all its bells and whistles in augmenting panoramic photos, TourWrist doesn’t provide a means for people to take these pictures. Instead on their website they provide lists of iPhone and Android apps that can be used to take 360 and panoramic shots. They also provide tips on how to take better quality shots and products that can be used to improve panning and 360 shots.
Though it is currently relying on third party apps, TourWrist has said they are going to be developing their own image creator so their service can really offer the full package. The company has also yet to gain profit so there is also talk of either introducing ads to the service or a premium option that will have more features available. Hopefully these features will only make TourWrist a more complete package than it already is.

Good news …

Plus, soon, look for iPhone and Droid 360º shooting apps, stitching software, camera gear and Content Management Systems (SMS) to integrate the free Publish to TourWrist API.
In the mean time, there are more than 20 360º iPhone shooting apps in the Apple iTunes App Store; plus some shooting apps for Droid devices.
