Latest Sony Tablet S update brings support for PlayStation 3 Controllers

Gaming on a tablet is fun but sometimes when you are playing games like First-Person shooters, you desperately want your console controllers so that you can easily frag some dummies but your precious tablet [iPad] doesn’t support any controllers, does it?

Well, there is one tablet that is best in the gaming business [that’s what they said], the Sony Tablet S, world’s first PlayStation certified tablet. You can root your Tablet [voids your warranty] to get the PS3 controller support on the Tablet S. [too risky? No problem, I am just messing with you]

Sony has released a latest firmware update for the Tablet S that brings the support for PS3 controller to the tablet. However, there is a catch – it won’t connect to the tablet wirelessly, you’ll have to buy a separate USB adapter for your tablet and connect the PS3 controller through wire. [but at least you’re getting the controller support! so stop whining]

Still, if you aren’t happy with this update then Sony is also throwing in a mini-game collection for free, to make you feel better after paying for the USB adapter.

This new update is only available in Japan at the moment, but we are certain that it will hit US and other regions pretty soon, and you’ll be enjoying the comforts of a console on your tablet.
Did I mention that the Tablet P owners will not get this update? No! then I am now, You won’t be getting any PS3 controller support if you own a Tablet P [You might get the update in near future! till then scratch your screens]

What do you think about this update? Will you hook up your PS3 controller to your Tablet S? Comment below and let us know.

UPDATE: The controller only needs to be synced with the Tablet S once via USB and after that it is wireless like with the PS3. [Thanks to Raul for this update]
